So I was talking to my friend the other day. Friend, says I, would you believe what we're about to do? My friend responded, "Blourp!" and then did a number of flips and spins in front of me. My friend is a sea lion, and we have communication issues sometimes. I ask for the salt, and he gives me the Cholula. He asks me for sardines and I give him a look of total ignorance because I don't speak a word of sea lion.

Me and Pablo - that's the sea lion's name by the way, Pablo - anyway, Pablo and I don't necessarily need words. It's amazing what a smile and some body language can accomplish. I know he's a huge football fan, and he tolerates my love of the San Francisco Giants (although why he has to tolerate it is beyond me, when so many of his cousins live on Pier 39). So I was just dying to tell Pablo that PCH Scuba was going to be advertising on ESPN Radio today! That's right, PCH is taking another step and actually moving from exclusively online advertising to that stuff grown ups do.

Well, you can imagine what Pablo had to say! No, really... you're going to have to imagine what Pablo had to say. Remember, I don't speak a single word of sea lion. I mean, he kind of backwards somersaulted, nibbled my fin tip for a second, then did that creepy little backwards swim-back while looking in my eye thing that sea lions do. I interpreted that as Pablo telling me "Good Job!". Well, it was either that or him trying to tell me that he thought Andrew Luck would be the number one overall pick in the draft today. Or that he wants some mackerel . Or that he has thoughts on the resolution of the Greek debt crisis.

Communication issues.

Now I know what you're thinking, "Pablo doesn't listen to the radio!" You're right. For the most part he watches draft coverage on the 42" plasma display the sea lions set up at The Rookery on SBI, but he does listen to the radio during his morning and afternoon commutes, when he's not listening to BBC World News podcasts.

Anyway, Pablo and I think it's pretty cool that PCH is gonna be on the airwaves over the next few days - gives us more opportunity to bring people in the water to get introduced to him.

Pictures of Pablo soon... until then, here's the list of stations we'll be advertising on...

  • The Vibe 103.1
  • The Surf 106.6
  • Kruz 97.5
  • B 95.1
  • KHAY 100.7
  • ESPN 1450AM

And here's what we're advertising...
